The 'Every Man's Superhero' Utilizes Unique Game Play Matrix For Fast-Paced Fun
MINNEAPOLIS, March 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crime fighters and villains everywhere just did a double-take as Infogrames, Inc. (Nasdaq: IFGM – news) today announced that a mysterious new hero is coming to town. With Hero X, an action adventure game for the PC, superhero justice will have a new name, yours. Developed by Amazing Games and ``officially'' sanctioned by the A.S.H.A. (American Super Heroes Association), Hero X features you as a first-time superhero determined to climb the heroic ladder by putting evildoers in their place.
``Over 60 million comic books are sold annually and the interest in comic book-style, action adventures is quite compelling,'' said Peter Armstrong, director of product development of Infogrames' Minneapolis label. ``With Hero X, we are introducing a unique game that appeals to a wide crossover audience.''
Smalltown, USA has been besieged by baddies and the American Super Heroes Association has assigned you the task of cleaning up the town. With multiple chapters of excitement -- each with a distinct storyline and mission -- you must call upon an arsenal of more than 50 super powers, including x-ray vision, super speed, invisibility and much more, to defeat the nefarious villains.
Game play in Hero X is fast and furious, occurring in real-time across a full screen. Tactical challenges abound as players strategically plan their assault on a mission, while dealing with the stress of additional randomly generated encounters with thugs of every ilk and disposition. Between each mission are beautifully drawn comic-book-style cut scenes that progress the storyline and immerse the player deeper into the game.
Developed by Amazing Games, Hero X is scheduled to ship this early summer. For more information, go to [http]
